Our Services

The Turkey Stearnes Foundation provides mentorship services and educational resources about Turkey Stearnes’ life and career and about Black Baseball and Negro Leagues history. The Foundation is in the process of developing printed literature, teacher aids, and curricula for primary and secondary school teachers as well as for college professors.

The foundation also provides:

Qualified speakers for events
Assistance to outside speakers and writers with accurate historical information
Opportunities for youth to play baseball and hone their skills on Norman “Turkey” Stearnes Field at Historic Hamtramck Stadium.
