Our mission is to create positive change through preserving the legacy of National Baseball Hall of Famer Turkey Stearnes and empowering future generations through mentorship, education and sports.
Our Organization
The Turkey Stearnes Foundation provides educational opportunities focused on Negro Leagues history along with mentorship and life skills opportunities for students in the community. Our purpose is to develop and implement charitable activities designed to preserve the legacy of National Baseball Hall of Famer Norman Thomas “Turkey” Stearnes and to popularize the history of the Negro Leagues and Black Baseball.

Youth are afforded the opportunity to play baseball on Norman "Turkey" Stearnes Field at Historic Hamtramck Stadium.
